The Unsolved Murder of Fred Sims

On January 21, 1983, Fred Sims and his wife, Rosalyn, finished dinner at the Denny's in their neighborhood. Fred went outside to warm up the car, while Rosalyn used the restroom and paid their check.
When she walked outside, she expected to find Fred and a warm car waiting for her. But Fred was gone. The car was there, but it was as if he had just disappeared.
Around the corner from the restaurant, at Harmon and Sheppard, a crowd had gathered around a man who was lying on the side of the road. One passerby said he thought the man was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Another thought, maybe the man was drunk because he had vomited.
The man had blood running down his face, so they called for an ambulance.
Rosalyn had called her son to come pick her up at Denny's because Fred was nowhere to be found. The two were driving home when they saw a crowd and the man who was lying partially in the road. Rosalyn knew immediately that man was Fred.
Fred had been shot twice, and he died before the ambulance could arrive. After an investigation and interviewing multiple witnesses, all the Las Vegas Metro detectives have are a couple of shell casings and a sketch of a possible suspect.

In 43 years, no one has ever been arrested for Fred's murder.
This week, we discuss Metro's theories for what happened to Fred, in hopes someone has information that can close this case after more than 4 decades.
