Below The Surface - the Unsolved Mysteries of Lake Mead - Part 2
Below the Surface: Five More Lake Mead Mysteries
When people think of Lake Mead, they picture clear water, warm sun, and long weekends. But not everything the lake holds is picturesque—or peaceful.
In Part 2 of our three-part Lake Mead series, we share five more stories from in and around the lake that involve missing persons, mysterious deaths, and lingering questions. These are the cases that don’t make it into travel brochures. They are the ones that haunt families, investigators, and communities for years.
Five Stories You Haven’t Heard Enough About
From a woman who vanished during a quick trip to the lake, to a case where authorities didn’t even know the victim’s name at first, these stories span decades and defy easy explanations.
You’ll hear about people who were full of life—mothers, friends, immigrants, veterans, and children—each of them caught in circumstances that led to tragedy.
Some cases involve official investigations that raised eyebrows. Others barely made the news at all. But in every one of them, someone is still waiting for justice. Or closure. Or simply the truth.
Why We’re Telling These Stories
We believe these cases matter—not just because of what happened, but because of what didn’t happen afterward. In some cases, there were arrests and trials. In others, silence. What they all have in common is a sense of unresolved pain and unanswered questions.
Whether the cases are decades old or relatively recent, our mission remains the same: to center the victims, honor their stories, and ask the hard questions the headlines sometimes forget.
If you know something—anything—about these cases, we encourage you to speak up. Even the smallest detail could help bring long-overdue answers.
