Two Unsolved Murders in Southern Nevada

Two Unsolved Murders in Southern Nevada

Richard Wayne Guarro was on vacation in Las Vegas in 1996 when he vanished. He never made it home to Fort Lauderdale, and his family waited 25 years to find out what had happened to him. His remains had been found in 2001, miles away from the Las Vegas Strip, but with no ID cards or any other leads, he was a John Doe until 2022.

Daniel Patrick Core was last seen riding his motorcycle in Pahrump in 2022. His sister traveled from Mississippi to help search for him. His remains were found in June of 2023, but it wasn't until December of 2024 that he was finally identified.

These two men eventually got their names back thanks to DNA testing & genetic genealogy. However, law enforcement in both cases believes these men were victims of a homicide.

With little information on what happened leading up to their disappearances, who they were with, and where they were going, both of these cases that started out as missing cold cases are now cold case homicides.

Please listen to this week's episode at sinspod.co/120, and if you have any information, please come forward to the authorities with what you know. Even if it seems small, it could be the tip that finally leads to an arrest.

If you have any tips or information about Richard Wayne Guarro, call Las Vegas Metro Police at 702-828-3521.

Anyone with information about Daniel Core, please contact the Nye County Sheriff’s Office at 775-751-7000.

In both cases, you can reach out to Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 to remain anonymous.
