The Disappearance of Randi Evers
The Disappearance of Randi Evers
On February 15, 1992, a three-year-old boy fell asleep on a blanket in the living room of his family’s Las Vegas apartment. By the early morning hours, he was gone.
Randi Leighton Evers has not been seen since.
More than three decades later, his disappearance remains one of the most discussed and debated missing child cases in Las Vegas history.
In Episode 113, we walk through what happened that night near Paradise and Flamingo, the timeline as it was reported, and the investigation that followed. As always, our focus is on the facts — the documented reporting, the official statements, and the words of the people directly involved.
A Birthday Party and a Vanishing
Randi was just three years old when he disappeared. That night, his father was celebrating his 26th birthday. Friends and family gathered at the apartment. At some point, Randi fell asleep in the living room.
When his stepmother returned home in the early morning hours, he was no longer there.
There were no clear signs of forced entry. No confirmed sightings. No immediate answers.
An Investigation Under a Microscope
The disappearance quickly became a major story in Las Vegas. Police canvassed the area. Nevada Child Seekers distributed postcards nationwide. The FBI assisted. Rewards were offered. Age-progressed images were created over the years.
But the investigation also focused heavily on those closest to Randi.
Grand jury proceedings were convened. Search warrants were executed. Friends and party guests were questioned. Allegations were raised publicly and repeatedly reported in local media.
And yet, no one was ever charged in connection with Randi’s disappearance.
Decades of Questions
As the years passed, the apartment complex where Randi disappeared was demolished. Detectives retired. Leads slowed. But the case was never officially closed.
In 2015, there was renewed hope when DNA comparisons were explored. In 2022, updated age-progression images were released by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Today, Randi would be 37 years old.
His biological mother has spoken publicly about the lasting impact of his disappearance. His father passed away in 2014 without ever knowing what happened to his son.
This is a case that has shaped conversations about missing children, investigative focus, and the weight of public suspicion in Las Vegas.
