The Unsolved Murder of Eric Nelams
Eric Nelams’ story doesn’t begin with how his life ended—it begins with the way he lived. In this milestone episode, we share a portrait of a son, brother, father, soldier, and friend whose joy filled every room, and whose generosity left a mark on everyone around him.
We focus on who Eric was—his warmth, his love for family, his pride in service—and why his case still matters more than twenty years later. You’ll hear how those closest to him remember his spirit, what keeps them pushing for answers, and how awareness can move a case forward. This episode was created with help from researcher Haley Gray and, most importantly, with insight and support from Eric’s family.
Why we’re telling this story now: the people who loved Eric have worked for years to keep his memory alive and to seek justice. Our mission is to elevate families like theirs, share accurate details responsibly, and connect listeners who may hold a missing piece—however small—to the right places.
If you have information that could help, please contact Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP or the Phenix City Police Department at 334-448-2800. You can also email tips to pcpd@phenixcityal.go. Sharing Eric’s photo and story makes a difference; every share keeps his name in front of the people who might know more.
We also highlight three recent Southern Nevada missing teen cases at the top of the episode and point to resources for youth in crisis. As always, you’ll find photos and links on our socials and at our site.
Because behind every headline is a family still waiting for answers.
